October 1, 2025, my coffee and ink Inktober started. 31 days, 31 promts, 31 illustrations, give or take. Since 2018, it’s been an opportunity for me to meet artists from around the world, share experiences, and learn ne from another.

This year I chose to combine black ink with coffee and my love for felines. To create the illustrations, I used both espresso and Moka pot made coffee, and even instant coffee.
Inktober history
The project was born in 2009 from the idea of Jake Parker, an American illustrator of cartoon concepts such as “Ice Age”, “Rio” and others. It was a personal challenge to practice the ink technique and develop the habit of drawing every day.
Inktober quickly became a global challenge. There’s an “official” list of themes presented in September, but each artist can choose their own list to use.

Inktober crafts
A few times I’ve found myself without the essentials: no brush, no palette, and even no coffee! Here’s how I did it using the materials I had in that moment:
Two in one
“Classic” Inktober includes one illustration for each theme. There are some exceptions to my Inktober: to illustrate the word “crown,” I couldn’t decide between the two subjects, so I did both; even for the illustrations for the “button” and “trunk” themes, I couldn’t decide between the two, so I combined them into a single illustration.
No filter
